Things To Consider Before Traveling With Your Dog

Traveling with your dog?  Your friends ask “Are you nuts?  You want to bring your dog on your trip?”  As you think to yourself, “Yeah and the screaming kids in the back of the car are so easy.”

As you set out on an adventure with your dog just remember:

Good planning = Good trip

And be honest about your dog.  Some dogs are naturally great travelers, while others are just disasters waiting to happen.  If your dog won’t settle down after an hour in the car, if he gets motion sickness, or if he is not well trained, it’s probably best to leave him at home with a friend or sitter.

3 Things To Consider Before You Hit The Road With Your Dog!

  • Dogs very young, very old, injured, known to bite or bark, or who don’t know basic obedience should not travel.
  • If most of your activities are not going to include your dog, you should probably leave him at home this trip.
  • Make sure you know the pet policies everywhere you will be staying.  Unpleasant surprises on vacation are no fun for anyone
